Impact tolerance (UK operational resilience)

An impact tolerance is the maximum level of disruption, usually expressed as a duration, that a UK firm sets for each important business service beyond which intolerable harm to clients or the market would occur. Under FCA and PRA rules, firms had until 31 March 2025 to show they can stay within these limits in severe but plausible scenarios.
