Payment throughput

Payment throughput is the share of a bank's daily outgoing payments, by value, that it has settled by set times of the day. It shows whether a bank pays early or holds payments back while waiting for inflows. CHAPS members have long followed throughput guidelines, historically 50% of value by 12:00 and 75% by 14:30.
